Skincare mistakes to avoid for better skin๐ŸŒธ

Are you worrying why your skin is failing to show results though you follow skincare on a daily basis?!

Here are the reasons!!!

7 SKINCARE MISTAKES TO AVOID FOR BETTER SKIN:

✓  Not including sunscreen in your skincare routine.

     ✓  Applying diys on skin

✓  Not cleansing face at night

     ✓  Picking at you face

✓   Not applying moisturizer right after cleansing

✓ Using tooo much skincare products

✓  Not being consistent with the skincare routine

Not including sunscreen in your skincare routine:

All labels are different on sunscreens, but generally you need to apply it 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours.

Be sure to also check your sunscreens expiration date and toss it if it is expired.

Make sure to wear sunscreen every day, even if the sun isn’t shining. People can end up with serious sunburns on overcast days since up to 80 percent of the sun’s UV rays can pass through clouds.

It’s also important to know that UVA rays can pass through glass, so while you are driving or even sitting in front of windows, you should protect your skin.

Unprotected sun exposure may lead to ageing, dark spots, damaged skin barrier, hyperpigmentation and even skin cancer.

Not only does sunscreen protect your skin from skin cancer, it also protects against photoaging, which appears as dark spots, sagging skin and wrinkles.

If you’re looking for a product that does double duty, I recommend looking for sunscreens that, in addition to a broad-spectrum SPF, have anti-aging properties and moisturizer.

๐ŸŽˆ So it's important to wear sunscreen no matter you're inside or outside!

 Applying diys on skin:

Hey you! kitchen ingredients are for breakfast and not for skincare! ingredients used for diy skincare are not safe enough to apply on your face...

But what many fail to understand is that DIY face packs have their own set of side effects too.

Sure, they’re natural and safer than chemical-based skin care products, but that does not mean every pack will suit everyone.

Peanuts are natural and yet there are people who are allergic to them. Similarly, ordinary ingredients with beneficial properties can harm you if you’re not cautious about what you use and how you use it.

This situation has probably been exacerbated by the internet being flooded with easy-to-make DIY face packs for all types of skin issues. From de-tanning to hair removal, acne reduction to natural moisturization - DIY face pack recipes for all types of problems you could or are facing are available.

It’s likely that most of these DIY face packs will benefit you, but you need to be able to make the best choice for yourself to minimise the risk of harm and for optimum skin health.

 ๐ŸŽˆstay out of diys

Not cleansing face at night:

a one-night break from your face wash routine won't cause too much damage, but it is important to rid your skin of dirt before dozing off.

Cleansing our face daily prevents the buildup of dirt, which can cause bacteria overgrowth—leading to inflammation and subsequent breakouts, dryness, eczema, and premature aging.

Washing face before bed is particularly important because going to bed with residue on the face such as dirt, dead skin cells, bacteria and sebum can worsen skin conditions and can clog pores and may lead to breakouts ..

Also, If you are wearing makeup and not removing it before you sleep,It’s pretty bad. Premature aging, dryness, breakouts, even potential infections can result from failure to wash your face before going to sleep.

The good news is that skipping your normal skin care routine for one night probably won’t do irreparable damage. But continually sleeping in your makeup can lead to long-term skin damage – and it’s completely avoidable.

 ๐ŸŽˆWash your face before bedtime

Picking at your face:

One morning last month, I smoothed some moisturizer on my face and ran out the door. This doesn’t sound like a major victory, but just months earlier, it would’ve been a different story.

I might have made myself late for work, picking at some pimple until it bled, then waiting for the angry, bleeding redness to go down before I ventured out into the public. I have a compulsive desire to pick my skin, but I’ve finally discovered ways to allow my skin to heal.

An infection, rash, or injury that creates a scab: The scab may itch while it heals, which leads people to scratch or pick it until it bleeds and a new wound forms. They may then pick at the new scab. A picking cycle forms and the behavioral pattern becomes a habit.

Everytime you pick your acne/pimple ,you end up irritating your acne which may end in scarring and pih(post inflammatory hyperpigmentation).

 ๐ŸŽˆ Don't touch your face

Not applying moisturizer right after cleansing:

In the winter, humidity levels plummet, and the dry air can dehydrate your skin and strip it of lipids, which are part of its protective outer layer — so irritants can enter more easily and cause redness and flaking

Bare skin is prone to dehydration.

When the skin barrier is compromised, which is what we see when it becomes dry, there's actually a low-grade chronic inflammation that occurs in the skin.

The air sucks the moisture out of your pores, and dry skin has an increased chance of premature aging. Complete your regimen quickly to avoid dry, itchy skin.

If you're afraid of feeling too greasy, pick a moisturizer that suits your needs: "For patients with acne-prone skin, I recommend using an oil-free, fragrance-free, noncomedogenic moisturizer along with their acne regimen.

  ๐ŸŽˆ Moisturize your face

Using too much skincare products:

Certain key ingredients don't play well together. For example, retinol loses all functional efficacy in the presence of vitamin C and AHAs.

When multiple products are mingled together, it is the full formulation that is mingling. Certain emollient bases do not mesh well and can create environments with comedogenicity and non-absorptive sticky ‘cloud cream' environments. These multi-product issues are often detectable by touch.

Greasy, sticky and tacky skin surfaces all suggest that too many (and/or the wrong type) of products have been applied. A regimen with fewer products of greater quality may be better for both the skin and the pocketbook.

Too much of anything is good for nothing.
Follow a basic skincare routine because using too much products may counteract each other or irritate your skin and may not absorb properly !

๐ŸŽˆKeep your skincare minimal

Not being consistent with your skincare products:

Trends and fads come and go, but some things should stay the same, especially when it comes to your skincare regimen.

I agree that skincare product trial and error is to be expected. You may go through trying out several different face cleansers, toners, lotions, creams, serums, exfoliants, and masks before you find the ones that best enhance your skin. After that, consistency is key when it comes to skincare effectiveness.

I hear some people who complain about their skin’s results yet are very inconsistent or lazy when it comes to using their products.

It’s either inconsistency or they have unrealistic expectations and are very impatient when it comes to real results. Unfortunately, because of technology (lighting, cameras, photo shop, filters, etc.), some people have unrealistic expectations of what skincare and even makeup can do for skin.

You can absolutely get fantastic results from a consistent skincare regimen using safe and effective products. You can lighten age spots, diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, get rid of redness, and acne.

You can have glowing, pretty, healthy skin BUT what you can’t do is look photo shopped in person. Not even the models on the covers of magazines and in magazine ads look that way in person. You and your skin will look beautiful and healthy, just not fake.

Having a good, consistent skincare regimen will also help your makeup look better. You will require less foundation, if any, or your foundation will look like it is your skin and not sitting on top of your skin and chalky-looking. Skincare, proper nutrition, water, and exercise can all help your skin feel and look your best, but have realistic expectations.

It takes longer for products to bring on noticeable changes than you might think..Skin cells turnover every month..

Introducing a new skincare product to your face should be done slowly with time and care.

๐ŸŽˆ consistency is the key

Conclusion:

While following a healthy skincare routine is essential, it’s just as important to be mindful of the products that you use and  avoid these common skincare mistakes.

WHY MOISTURIZER IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR SKIN :      Moisturizer is needed to reduce extreme oiliness and dryness of the skin. Extreme level of both will cause breakouts and acne. It helps in making the cells of the skin healthy. Without a moisturizer in winters skin starts to look cracky after 2-3 days. Moisturizer should be applied daily. ABOUT THE BRAND:     ...
